I realized something today. I realized what it means to be atheist. We can get into religion and definitions of what God is, etc but it's doesn't matter. What an atheist believes is when you die that's it. That's all there is. You no longer exist. That's correct. That is 100% accurate.
You see there are 2 parts to everyone, everyone. You have your ego or identity and you have your observer self or your soul. I cannot describe to you what your observer self or soul is. Only you know. I can tell you what your soul isn't. It isn't a color. It wasn't born in wherever. It didn't have a job doing whatever. It isn't X years old. I doesn't look a certain way. It doesn't have brown hair. It doesn't own things. That's your ego that does all of that. When you die your ego dies.
You see this is what atheists have figured out. They know when they die that their ego or identity dies. They've accepted this fact. What they do not recognize is there is another part of self, the soul. As a religious person what you do not recognize is the difference between the soul and the ego or identity. You believe your ego is your soul. It is not.
You must recognize all of these things to fully realize what you are. Your ego is meaningless. It will die and never be remembered. Your soul is everything. It will live forever.
Can you demonstrate any sort of soul? The simple answer is no. The "soul" is a man made construct and it has no basis in reality. To say otherwise is willful ignorance.
