Over 270 million Americans (70% of the US population) has been vaccinated against SARS CoV-2.

Almost a billion vaccine doses have been administered to US residents.

If the claims of vaccine harm were true, the USA would be a ghost town.

Yet rush hour traffic is worse than ever. πŸ˜‚

Canadian study shows that unvaccinated people are 15 times more likely to die from COVID-19.

Per the U.S. CDC, 270 million people in the US have received at least one dose.

56.5 million have continued beyond the primary series and have also had boosters. 17% of the population, again per CDC.

So 83% of the US population are essentially unvaccinated, or at best may still have some minimal vaccine benefit.

Two things here. First, the benefit does not fade completely, as you pointed out. Second, the vaccines got us through a critical time, lowering the infection curve when nobody had immunity, and hospitals (and morgues) were nearly overwhelmed. Remember when they were storing bodies in refrigerated trucks?

If the flame was that it was safe and affective, we would not have see such a spike in heart attacks and Covid would have been nearly eliminated.
So there’s that.

30% of the population never got a single dose. You're never going to eliminate it like that.

To the best of my knowledge, there was no spike in heart attacks caused by the vaccines. There were a few relatively mild cases of myocarditis.

@Flyingsaucesir

30% didn’t get the vaccine, but 85-95% of the people that did still got Covid.
As a state trooper, we get a a lot of calls for a lot of things and work with a number of EMS teams. All of their runs (and ours) are logged. The increase in numbers has been pretty staggering. 40% to 75% increase in heart attack and heart concerns around here, depending on the county.
Maybe it’s global warming…..

@Esprit_de_Corp Sorry bub, but your anecdote does not trump the CDC's and other health professionals' data. You simply don't have credibility in this arena. Anyway, your assertion conflicts with my personal experience. Practically everyone I know has been vaccinated, and no one has experienced any serious side effects. What we have gotten is protection from the virus.

@Flyingsaucesir

It really is awesome to hear that the other side is so into something so harmful. I highly encourage all Democrats to go get your booster. Hell, get a couple.

You'll get no argument from me. I've had my Covid vaccine plus two boosters and so far I've never gotten Covid.

Same here. And I'm getting the updated version next month.

I am up to date, though due when the latest is available, along with family and friends. We have all had covid, but basically minimal symptoms.

From a whole-population perspective, it's like you went to the doctor with a serious infection and took 70% of the prescribed antibiotics. The infection will definitely return, and only the most resistant germs will survive.

Well, not really. You've got the right idea with respect to the evolution of microbes in a single body. But a population is different. Here's why: the more unvaccinated people you have, the more opportunities for the virus to mutate.

@Flyingsaucesir There is also "herd immunity" when the disease can not find enough victims to spread, that often happens naturally, and helps to account for the cyclic nature of some diseases.

@Flyingsaucesir You are perfectly wrong. The population of humans is no different than the population of viruses in one body. You must have learned science from watching Fox "news".

@Flyingsaucesir, @Fernapple Heard Immunity occurs when all of the weaker organisms have died.

@BitFlipper Or enough of the stronger ones have immunity, sorry but yours is a common misunderstanding.

Herd immunity is achieved, when a high enough percentage of the population is immune, which is achieved by, BOTH, the dying of those unable to become immune, which is a small number in the case of Covid, and by those who can acquiring immunity.

There wouldn't be enough backhoes in the world to bury the heaps of dead, something I have pointed out epeatedly to our resident idiots, but it makes no impression..........

If half of what these idiots claim were true, the dead would be stacked up like cordwood.

The level of stupidity in the country is truly alarming.

I wonder how many of these A-holes are in the employ of the Russian Internet Research Agency.
