Judge in Paul Manafort case accuses special counsel Robert Mueller of gunning for Trump's 'impeachment or prosecution'

U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III said Friday that special counsel Robert Mueller's team is interested in information that leads to President Donald Trump's "impeachment or prosecution."
Ellis questioned why it is Mueller's office that is prosecuting former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort in a tax and bank fraud case.
The judge said the charges against Manafort do not have anything to do with Russian interference in the 2016 election or potential collusion with Russians by the Trump campaign.

Wow, an honest judge. I guess there still are a few of them. Bad luck for Mueller.

I see that you leftists are in a panic that the witch hunt might come to a sudden halt. I'm looking forward to Comey, McCabe, Rosenstein, and Mueller getting indicted. I know, I'm a dreamer.

Is that you Trump?.. Lol ...I bet you have nightmares about Mueller

The judge hasn't read the mandate. Another fucking idiot on the side of that piece of Orange shits side. They will go down. It will be a beautiful thing. ?

Judge Ellis seems to be merely pointing out that the Manafort case is outside the original mandate for which the special counsel was appointed.

It was reported the judge has not read the mandate.

@Sticks48
The Motion and/or Decision should be out in 2 weeks. I think the Judge was just signaling that the prosecutor needs to make that connection. Otherwise, there are more appropriate enforcement agencies which have actual and original jurisdiction over the Tax and Bank Fraud claims against Manafort.

This is what we can expect with the Repubs stacking the courts with as many right-wing ideologues as they can find, qualifications be damned! Mueller is doing his job, following the evidence of wrong-doing wherever it leads.

Ellis was trained at Princeton, Harvard Law(magna cum laude), and Oxford. I think he is qualified. LOL

Honest? Maybe.
Impartial? That doesn't seem to be the case.
If the judge doesn't want to try the case on its own merits, he should recuse himself.

Mueller seems to be doing what prosecutors do. The special counsel is hired to agressively pursue evidence of possible wrong-doing. Do the names Kenneth Starr and Bill Clinton ring a bell?
