I find it interesting that Trump is not the first presidential candidate where there was a push by states to remove them from the ballot. It also happened in 1860 where 10 states did not include Abraham Lincoln in their ballots. He won anyway, the civil war started soon after (ominous). He was removed from ballots by democrats, the supporters of slavery.
Thank goodness in 2024 Democrats now "protect" democracy pmsl

All States have left and right factions. No State is entirely one way or another. As such a Civil War is impossible.

We live in interesting times America seems to be heading for another civil war with their choices of presidential candidates. No matter what party wins, the other side will contest and most likely not accept it..
You have the choice between tweedle de and tweedle dumb.
Hobson has given you the choice.
I speculate how this new civil war would take place?? armed rebellion? cyber warfare?? Civil disobedience? or perhaps succession from the union by some states??

That is up to Americans but it should mean foreign based adventures will cease, which would be nice. The military will be the big decider, what they do. Join to fight as a cohesive force or fight amongst themselves? The nuclear subs? Those military based o/s, what will they do if fighting breaks out at home, especially between their own armed forces? Could be a very dangerous time.

You'd think a site calling itself "confirmedsource" might raise a few red flags?

Everything is "truth" or a synonym of now. FB "fact checkers" say no, as does USAtoday [usatoday.com]

Lincoln was left off the ballot, no ballot issued by the party.........whatever. The fact is that people in 10 out of the 11 states who formed the Confederacy had no say in the election of Abe Lincoln as he was not on their ballots in 1860.............for whatever reason. Not the most democratic election in 1860 as not all contenders were put forward as an option people could democratically choose. So why are "Our democracy's threatened" Democrats trying this again, ensuring not all contenders will be on every ballot in the "United" States?

@puff Yes, political polarization before the Civil War was as bad as it is today. And keeping Trump off the ballot won't help.

@Druvius Totally agree. I'm looking forward to all the "surprise" and accusations (both parties guilty) when things don't run smoothly the next election day. Been major dramas with voting/ counting close results since Bush Vs Gore but no parties seem interested in having some continuity in the voting process, a uniform system..
