Mostly they think Jesus is coming back because they read their bible. If not, then the preacher pounds this idea into their heads often in sermons. Lastly they point to Jesus telling his disciples that he would be back during some of their lifetimes. All I can say is that it has been a very long wait and no Jesus. People did not live this long even in Genesis..

@anglophone The story of Jesus, like many of the stories in the bible are just recycled myths from earlier relations and cultures.
@snytiger6 which story of Jesus? The one in the bible or the original texts. They are not the same.
Such people are very long on imagination and extremely short on logic and reason.

These are people brought up to believe we are some kind of "pet project" that is cared for. They want a better life and instead of working towards that...they pray.
