Mostly they think Jesus is coming back because they read their bible. If not, then the preacher pounds this idea into their heads often in sermons. Lastly they point to Jesus telling his disciples that he would be back during some of their lifetimes. All I can say is that it has been a very long wait and no Jesus. People did not live this long even in Genesis..

I am a believer, and you expect me to apply logic and reason to anything? Hello? 😉

@anglophone The story of Jesus, like many of the stories in the bible are just recycled myths from earlier relations and cultures.

@snytiger6 Popular myths tend to be reused. It works on those who are hard-wired to a faith-based belief and hoping for a better kind of life as well as those who have been fully indoctrinated.

Such people are very long on imagination and extremely short on logic and reason.

These are people brought up to believe we are some kind of "pet project" that is cared for. They want a better life and instead of working towards that...they pray.
