I wish they wouldn't use clickbait stuff like "upend cosmology," it just gives ammo to the flat Earthers and YEC crowd. Cosmology is an infant science and our understanding of the universe is always changing and is likely to continue to do so for a long time. That being said, fascinating discovery, love living in a Golden Age of space exploration.

The finding jibes with discovery of supermassive black holes early on. Cosmologists don't have a good model to explain how either can develop in a short time after the Big Bang. Maybe gravity was a lot stronger somehow? Or maybe something else is out there to generate extreme gravity and pull matter together?

The more we know, the more questions we have.
