A human reading the teleprompter news boringly and with a straight face tuned me off even in the hay days of nightly news. Why can't anyone figure out producing just a brief video reel of 30 mins documentary style every 3 hours to give the latest news that beats the internet news? I am sure AI can do that. A documentary style summary news of national, local and international (separate) will have a high value.

Try The News Hour on PBS. Twice as long as the network news programs... and much better in my opinion.

@FrostyJim

I was watching it for 30 years and was tired of old Judy Woodruff not leaving and making it monotonous. I was talking about personless news, like a documentary. Now I just watch the news summary on BBC and Google and go to select news online. I don't watch TV anymore.

And the situation was scarier back then with more unrest in the streets and a higher probability of nuclear war with the USSR. The news was just not in the business of fear mongering in the 60's.

There was the episode with Dennis Hopper playing a nasty as a fuck American nazi type in which the theme was, you think it can't happen here in America, well it can, if people give in to fascist hatred. It was Rod Serling's warning. Were he around, he'd be horrified at America now, but not surprised. Instead of the junk that passes now for American TV, perhaps they should replay TTZ.

C'mon. Several of the episodes centered on the Cold War, WWIII and MAD.
