Why Trump’s latest civil trial judgment dooms him…

Trump’s net worth according to Forbes latest analysis is only
about 2.4 billion which while it seems like a lot it really isn’t for
someone with as many real estate holdings as he has.
As someone who understands accounting let me just say that
part of the reason he was inflating his property values was
without the higher valuation he would never receive those loans
as loans on investment properties tend to be short term higher
interest loans based on 60% of the appraised property value

. This limits the lender’s liability should the owner be forced to
liquidate their holdings. However if the owner inflates the value
of their holdings and as in the case of Trump become overextended
and unable to pay everything he owes then you ar at risk of losing
much of your own money.

How this will affect Trump is exemplified by the old adage “shit
flows downhill…” The first things the state will go after when seizing
assets will be cash and liquid assets making paying current bills
difficult for him because if I am correct his debt to asset ratio is
at least 70 and maybe as high as 90%. This is only possible because
of his inflated estimates of the properties in question actual value.
The next round of seizures will be of properties with the lowest
debt to asset ratios which will give the best return and cut into
much of Trump’s revenues further making it even more difficult to
keep payments current putting more properties at risk.

Now if what I suspect is correct and at best he is at 70% debt
to value this means to actually pay what will become 600 M in
judgments, interest and collection costs, fees ,etc the state
of New York may well have to seize as much as 2 or more billion
of Trump’s assets… Anything left over the vultures will be picking
over until nothing is left but the stink and both he and his sons
along with many of his business associates will die as paupers.

Trying to convince people like my sister that inflating values to the extent trump did is still a part of trump's undying legacy. She thinks 'all's fair in love and war' and now for her business practices.
Wrangles over the 'little' stuff whether real estate or taxes is just part of the 'game'. Little lies are okay? I just do not get the rationalization and mental gymnastics she does. The media of course - that would be right lending media - continues to make trump the victim.
Guess we'll just have to see how it all plays out. One thing we do know any other motherfucker who pulled the shit trump did would be sitting in a jail cell.

Trump flew below the radar for a long time, and might have gotten away with it, but for Michael Cohen's testimony in court. It's not selective prosecution if the prosecutor is following up on damning testimony under oath.

@Flyingsaucesir New Yorkers knew but then no one wants to listen to them. Also I grew up just outside of Philly. South Jersey was the place for mob families to hang out and live. SO many people in that NY, PA and NJ area were aware of the influence of the gangsters and it was just life as life goes. I spotted trump for the con man he is the minute he hit the national media.

Your sister's view of the rule of law vis-a-vis the business world is dead wrong. Yes, there are bad actors who play dirty, but if their bad acts become known to the state, then they are usually contacted by prosecutors and some kind of settlement is negotiated. But Trump flat out denied any wrongdoing. That left the state no alternative but to prosecute.

The business world is not the wild west, and a laissez faire attitude toward crime is not how things work for the simple reason that it's bad for business. The USA, and especially New York, is the business capitol of the world precisely because of our robust enforcement of the laws. The ability of investors to have confidence that it is a level playing field brings capital to our markets. It's a major part of the success of this country. Your sister is DEAD WRONG.

@Flyingsaucesir Send her an e-mail!! hahahahahaha
I have tried to explain all that to her.
This is why we do not talk anymore. She's also a Christian and pretty much only watches Fox, newsmax, etc.

@silverotter11 A Christian who watches Fox, huh? Well that explains everything 😂
