King James is only one man who had translations of the bible. There were many others too. Modern versions are made to make the language more like that of people today.
The King James version of the bible is a translation of translations, which has caused a lot mistranslations from the earliest texts. However, there is no surviving text(s) that was written prior to the time of death of all the apostles. So, even the original texts are second hand retellings of accounts at best. The recorded stories were also greatly influenced by previous myths and cultures which were familiar. Most religious stories are just recycled myths ...
@snytiger6 what was initially recorded vs what is translated. You are attributing what is translated to what originally was recorded. People often confuse the two. If you've not read the original texts then you cannot speak to it. I do understand the original texts aren't first hand accounts of scribes standing in front of his crucifying body.
