I know we feel we must identify ourselves, so that others who share our ideals can find us and unite and also so we can "stand for something", BUT, every label we attach ourselves to only serves to separate us more and more from the most basic and profound connection we share as "human beings". I hope we humans will get past the need to "circle the wagons" around labels like conservative/liberal, Democrat/Republican, Christian/Protestant and all the others that pit us against each other. We are arguing about how to put out the fire, while the house is burning to the ground....

Any time we see primarily the label instead of the person and his/her behavior, We create problems.

Most humans seem to be tribal by nature, therefore, they need a way to identify the tribes.

@Seeker55 Ageed, but it doesn't seem to be a widely held belief.

Divide, conquer, rule.
Time tested and effective.

It just will not happen with the human race being what it is.

I identify myself as "Me". I leave all the other labels to others who have nothing better to do.

I was never comfortable with any label or identification. I use them only when I must.

I've never been into labels. Never liked cliques. Totally believe diversity is the key to all of us getting along. Being labeled liberal, anti-trump and stoner has cost me friendship with fellow members. I am trying to get along with everyone as I just started a Singles Group which has over 150 members so far. Trying to get away from the Us and Them factions here.

Singles Group-original huh?
