Today, I took advantage of the great weather to go for a spin with my bike. I ended up in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath and my friend Sally joined me for a coffee. In the meantime, this beauty arrives. I don't know the brand, I asked the year of make, turned out to be 1923!!! I love to see old cars like this on the road.
I thought it was an Alvis, but the blue wheel are the giveaway it is a De-Dion Bouton 12/24hp Drophead Coupé made from 1923 to 1925
Thanks for the information about the car. The owner said it was from 1923.
Works of art. What is the insurance on one of these?
I don't know. Probably the insurance is for classic car and it isn't too expensive. My bike will turn 30 years old next year and I'll start paying insurance over a classic vehicle, which is quite cheaper.
@Paddypereira It's not very expensive, when I was growing up my father had a 1932 Austin 10 , the actual motor insurance was next to nothing, but it was also covered under his house hold contents as an antique, this was optional but probably worthwhile in case someone stole it from his garage.
@LenHazell53 , great to know. And thanks for sharing the photo. That's a beauty.
In the USA? Probably astronomical.
