Idaho, just to the East of Washington is another land bound state. Such states are often poorer and don't have the resources those bordering a sea or ocean do. It has consistently been a haven for ultra conservatism. That said, two huge problems are people seem to forget what their tax dollars are used for and always vote for those that lower their taxes. Also, few understand the huge cost of education kids that don't speak our language or know the culture. This is a fact and not a slam on immigrants (my late partner was an immigrant and educator and she consistently talked of this serious issue). In many states a lottery system has been made to help fund schools. Here, in Washington, timber sales were once a prime source of revenue but even this cannot keep up with the expenses. Now, more and more private schools are asking for and getting support from certain states for money.

After an election many politicians learn how to game the system and put out a lot of yard signs and spend money on advertising. Of course few actually say what they are going to do and obfuscation is a prime source of getting votes. Unfortunately, it often works. Good that some are paying attention and fighting back.

That what conservatives want, an uninformed and ignorant public. That's where they get and use their power to create even more ignorance.

That is how the MAGA and Christian Nationalists have managed to take over so many state, local and school governments. The Democrats, and independents focus on the presidential elections and sleep through the state and local, often not even running candidates at all. But the Conservatives never rest and have managed over decades to load state, local, judicial and school board offices with their radical extremist candidates with no opposition. Now they are confident enough in their saturation to start showing their true agenda. Stopping them is not going to be easy or quick.

Problem is, many states don't have these problems. Each state has to deal with the problems of that state.

and maybe some wisely-directly energy of anger.
