My far distant cousin whom I have never met posted this on FB. I replied that that comparing Trump to Jesus was blasphemy.
IF there were to be a reckoning with Jesus, there would be a lot of Xtians to whom he would say, "Get away from me--I know you not."

But, my dear, Trump was railroaded! The porn star was obviously lying--who can trust a porn star? Trump, on the other hand, is quite Christlike, right?
And yes, J. did save a harlot/adulterer from the mob.
I unfollowed some relatives for the same type of reason 4+ years ago. I'm surprised, once in a while, when I see them liking one of my posts. I have no desire to check their pages to see if they still are posting divisive memes and hateful comments toward secularists like me. I would like to think they've lightened up, but afraid they haven't. Life is happier not being exposed to reminders that some of my relatives say they love me, but hate my religious, political and social views toward inclusiveness rather than divisiveness.
Christians need a martyr to follow and that's exactly what the Trump tribe is feeding into.

I have no idea if this woman follows me or not as she never comments or likes my post. I might have said something to offend her in the past. She did not comment on my comment to her. As I said, I've never met her and she asked to add me after seeing my posts to other cousins.
The cousins who do know me long ago stopped trying to win me over. One hates Trump--and "hates" is not too strong a word. I have seen her "friends" defend him when she posts about him. I don't see them in real life although they usually have a small reunion during the summer. It might interesting to attend!
Blasphemy for sure!!!!

@annewimsey500 I live on the Ozark plateau and it used to be a seabed. The soil is very rocky and lots of the rocks have fossils of tiny sea creatures. My property is even rockier as it is next to a sinkhole and the yard(s) are all fill dirt. There are chunks of concrete and lots of gravel below the surface. I have built stone fences in my yard with the rocks I have dug up or those "donated" by my neighbor.
Trump was convicted in a real trial. Guilty on all counts he so far has not been crucified.

I am not even going to try to explain that to this cousin. I did unfollow her, though, because if she posted more of this tripe, I would have responded in a way which I am sure would have offended her.
There is nothing that can be done to convince someone to not put their trust in a fantasy when that fantasy is appealing to them. Too much time and effort has been invested for them to give up and admit they are wrong.
As for blasphemy...Since I don't acknowledge the fantasy of a deity then it doesn't exist for me.

Nothing is "blasphemy" to me, but I am petty enough to poke her!
@Gwen_Wanderer She did ask for it, so poke, poke away. 
@Betty And I did poke her! But I also unfollowed her as a I have a low tolerance for such dribble. If she were not a relative (albeit one I have not met), I would have unfriended her.
@Gwen_Wanderer Blood does not determine who you get along with. You have a family here that gets you.

@pamagain most of my cousins are soaked in religion! I don't see them in person, though, so it is not a problem.
