Okay so I've always been a neck sniffer.
A potential new partner - lean in for that hug and sniff.

If the sniff doesn't make something curl up or zing?
No compatibility.

Do others do this? Or not?

I'm baffled that not everyone does this!

Ok this is new..and I probably do it but uncertain..buuut smell is important..

Yes it's a big deal to me. btdt with someone whose chemistry never struck me, never again.
I don't care if you smell like old books there will be some essence someplace and his neck/jaw is the starting point.

I'm more of a leg and ass man myself. If l get a whiff of perfume l don't like or they just wear too much that will kill the deal. I like the way women smell and prefer they wear no perfume. ☺

I should have said natural smell.

I sniff her all in, but not compulsively.

I've no special habits in this direction that I am aware of...although some women wear too much perfume, they leave vapor trails, sillage.

I wonder if Ray Charles really felt wrists to determine compatibility.

Well taking a pulse could help a blind person right?

/e raises his hand with a guilty look on his face

It's nature's way! No need to feel guilty.

I've often postulated that many preferences are based on smell, but I don't deliberately sniff people's necks

Really?

Honestly! (Apparently men and women).

Smelling "right" can be a big pull in attraction.

@RavenCT
I can certainly see why smelling “wrong” could be a problem.

@Gatovicolo That's a given.

Reminds me of cows and dogs that sniff the posteriors of other cows and dogs! Pheromones in humans is a debated topic.

There is an odor that women produce that really cranks up my interest... and it's an, ahem, intimate odor... I have noticed a lack of this odor with women who are post menopausalal (my wife and another gal), and another that was known to be barren... methinks it is a hormone/pheromone component.

@Gnarloc it is... someone just threw my clock back recently. I smell like me again. 🙂

I'm all about animal magnetism between potential partners. Their smell and the timber of their voice are very important and can affect me on deep levels...

Oh yes, especially the voice. Emphasis, eye movement and expression and gestures in moving body language are music revealing both harmony and disharmony.

I think this poll stinks...

I had a dog who used to do that. But he preferred a somewhat different part of the anatomy...

2

That's your odd habit. You discuss!

So far more people do it - then don't do it! lol

I'm lower than that, bout 2 foot average. That's where the compatibility pheromones congregate. I've been married after 2 divorces, for 40 years.

If you were a guy, I'd say you're creepy.

I don't have fangs I swear!
