Move to a border state then. Or better yet let them come where you live.

@Tejas I lived in the Houston, Texas area for 20 years and was a card carrying Republican at the time. I saw no problems with people crossing our border with Mexico and hardly anyone talked about illegals.

@Tejas we actually have programs to get them here, some sponsored by the state, others by religious groups, as good workers are in demand....they arrive with a place to live arranged, a job, translation help, clothing, furniture and someone who works with them to get their families here if needed.
If I had more than one bathroom in this tiny house I could and would sponsor some myself.

@DenoPenno I lived in Houston for roughly the same amount of time. A large population of Houston is Hispanic. Illegals take jobs from Americans, end of story. If they come here legally that's completely fine, until then they are leeching on society.

@annewimsey500 I've lived about half of my life in bigger cities. Illegals can and do negatively impact society. I respect them coming here with a work ethic but they need to do it legally so they can contribute to society as well.

@Tejas I find this strange because none of them ever took my job. You think mostly they might have taken jobs nobody else wanted. I never wanted to pick fruit or wash cars, do random farm work. I may have worked with some of them along the way in some capacity but if so their legal status was never a question. My work was HVAC in those days.

@Tejas they Have to work, most legal poor people are "poor" because they Choose to suck society dry by getting on and staying on the many programs available.....do you not see that Help Wanted signs are Everywhere????!!!
And I say this as a person who availed my single-mom self (no support, her dad was dead) of Food Stamps , while on strike, for about 5 months, and paid the system back when the strike was over in 1974.
And oooooh, those poor felons.........who were no doubt victimizing those trying to contribute to society and their families betterment.

@annewimsey500 your entire point is moot. Illegals contribute only negatively to the economy, they cannot be taxed. If they need work that bad they can go back and fix their country.

@Tejas Migrant and immigrant workers actually put billions of dollars into the economy. Social Security and other taxes are deducted from their pay but they can not collect those benefits. The pay local taxes via everything purchase. The government figures on the benefits of migrant and immigrant workers is there for anyone to look up.
