@Lizard_of_Ahaz I know a couple of the schools canceled classes that day and I believe the FBI is involved and has gone on our local news stations and said they will prosecute no matter what age these people are doing the threats. They have said that they arrested two high school kids and one middle school kid as of today. I don't know if they arrested more, didn't watch the local news today.

@michelle666gar Hopefully the parents all go to prison as well.

@Lizard_of_Ahaz It's also happening in Las Cruces, NM., I haven't heard how they're going to handle this situation, New Mexico is different from Texas. I know our gun laws are very lacking and almost any idiot can own a gun here. Underage children are not supposed to have guns but their idiot parents do.

@Lizard_of_Ahaz A couple of years ago there was a guy walking around a school with an assault rifle and parents called the police and the school and because this is Texas, they said he has every right to do that, until something happens, so yeah, I guess our children have to be shot first before they respond and just stand there and let them get shot, like in Uvalde.

@michelle666gar I sure it was not an assualt rifle, perhaps on that looked like an assualt rifle. More important, any school (or private property) can legally forbid possession of a firearm on their premises.

@Alienbeing No guns of any kind are allowed in the schools here but the right to bear arms is allowed and the guy wasn't doing anything wrong, so they left him alone. The police said if he did start shooting then they would have to do something. To me that's just waiting for something to happen, instead of telling him to go somewhere else, like a Walmart.

I simply can not imagine the situation that people face in Texas. I live in a very MAGA area of WA State and feel pretty isolated. There are many dems and progressives but if the MAGA had their way we'd have open carry around here. The schools are somewhat openly racist, to the point the Feds did and investigation earlier this and there are a bunch of KKK in the little town east of me.
