Loosely translated I would say this means 'bend over put your head between your knees and kiss your ass good bye...' Damned glad all I have to worry about is the occasional earthquake...
I've lived in California for a lot of years, and now living in Florida for many years as well. I would rather live in Florida where you get a couple weeks of warnings, so that you can make choices, rather than a no warning earthquake like the one in San Francisco where almost 4000 people were injured, and 63 people died.
Those are literally one in a million.... I just had the earthquake retrofit done on my home so unless it is a really big one very close to where I live I won't lose my home... Also I can get homeowners and earthquake insurance at a reasonable price. Can you say the same?...
@Lizard_of_Ahaz. Yes, I did very well this year. And it's just my opinion, Liz.
@ThinkingFree You went with the state funded insurance company I take it?.... Sorry to tell you but they short change or outright refuse to pay out on many claims... Most insurers have exited the Florida market because of the extremely high losses and were jacking up rates to levels that nobody could afford before that.
@Lizard_of_Ahaz. No, not state funded.
The first thought that came to mind was the last line of the movie Chinatown.
I have no idea why they would choose to stay but I hope everything works out okay for them.
