I have several libertarian friends, still don't understand the attraction to it. I am a progressive socialist. All of my 64 years experience in life shows me that corporations are not to be trusted and need harsh controls. Until we have that we will continue to have income inequality on the massive scale we have now. We will also have the health care problems and other symptom's of a society in collapse.
I consider myself to be a liberal libertarian. People don't need government oversight; however, I believe business entities need to be closely regulated to protect people. If we are giving corporations the same rights as individuals, then the owners should lose the personal protections they are granted by separating their business lives from their personal assets.
I vaguely identified as Libertarian for ten years and then registered Republican in 2016. Yes there is a predominant left-leaning theme in the atheist community that is divisive. I used to think atheists would have a level for respect for each other no matter what their political views were, but this has often not been the case. I tend to stick to conservative atheist groups, mostly for the sake of having more productive conversations.
Please feel free to share these conservative atheist with me.
