Me thinks the tax slaves were getting too educated in the real stuff. So they introduce dumb knowing it will catch on. Sort of like the "Emperors New Clothes" Problem is this time the little boy in the crowd won't cry "he is naked!" because he is in his mothers basement playing video games!

Seems like they always have bad breath too

Probably comes from all that shit in their mouths!

@Petter Exactly

Ignorance is not bliss!

My hope is that people will see what they are really about, but people seem to forget pretty fast!

I read not one constructive comment within this thread. It is rife with ad hominem and smug condescension on somehow being who you are is projected as being superior. Is this what atheism gives you? You could engage these folks with these (sometimes dangerous) beliefs, or you can mock them. Ask yourself which of the two will you more than likely get an ear or strike up a discussion? Ask yourself what sort of issues do we have in common that cause distress or worry.

This particular thread relates to what is also known in terms of the subject matter as "identity politics". Just point to stereotypes of people of a certain ideology or belief, then run roughshod over their person by demeaning them. The term also reflects appealing to certain social groups for sheer vote getting. Beliefs systems have a small part in how our legislators pass laws in that it is used to prop up beliefs that have no effect on you. If you seriously want to change things, then choose better candidates not beholden to wealthy donors, corporations and PACs, while they claim some god drives them to be better, as they take money. While we make fun of people then sidetracking happens, the wealthy get their deregulations, tax cuts that will more than likely hurt poor to working class families, as cuts will be pushed to Social Security and Medicare and public assistance programs, on the guise of our manufactured national debt crisis.

The actual largest problem in this country is capitalism, in which its very definition describes it as profits coming first, and is promoted as some national religion itself, being cast as "we are better than other countries" (which actually ensure their people there do not fall through the cracks). One thing atheism does for me, is that I question things. I question the media, the news, their wording. I ask questions in science, etc. I also look at what rarely or never gets airtime or online news. So, I turn to independent sites that rely on donations, not commercials, where companies can dictate what and how the news gets told. Trust me, these memes and stereotypes may be funny to you (and they are not, as they are form of marginalization), and they cause issues that we have by dividing. When you leave this forum to go about your day, ask yourself what you actually accomplished. #Introspection

I wish you well with your endeavours. Because, from the outside looking in, the USA has three primary things:

  1. guns

  2. a grinding, prohibitively culture of religion

  3. exit. The US is leaving the international stage. Thanks to your President.

@Palindromeman Let's hope that Trump removes his troops from Australia. It's a huge liability having them here! Perhaps while he's doing that he'll close the other 300 American military bases around the globe.

@Abbelyne I find it eerie how history keeps repeating. The US of 2018 is not much different from the US of 1916 or of 1941. Isolationist. And yet at the same time ready, willing and able to take selective military action. I don't get it. Allegedly pulling back and yet still retaining a naval carrier group in the middle east. WTF?

And many of those bases come from decades old conflicts.

This is what happens when the clowns come to town and take over The White House.

I appreciate your response. I think most of the folks on this site do not go in for the personal bashing of individuals.
For me me this particular group is simply an outlet for the utter sense of dispare I feel when looking at someone like trump or pense. I know ALL too well what they stand for. No fancy words or indepth insights needed to convince me in regards to the evil of their politics or religion.
When I leave this forum I put forth thinking reasoning solutions, I try and educate the people I enter act with to the facts and truth. No bashing, no name calling.
This site is where I can vomit, share rage, rail aginst batshit crazy and then go out into the world with my social curtain intact so I can prepare a reasonable debate.
I live in an apartment I can not at 3am scream to the universe 'THIS IS NUTS" and right now I can't even DRIVE my car to the woods - hip replacement surgery 4wks ago.

@silverotter11 Oooooh (hip replacement!) ........ wishing you a speedy recovery. I hope you have some good support to help with the practical aspects of life.

@Abbelyne Greetings, I wan to move to Australia!!! By and large not so bad, agile and lean just the inconvience of it.
Seriously what does it take to move to Australia?

@silverotter11 I think it depends these days on how much money you've got! Some people come on a 457 visa which allows then to work for 6 months. Some transfer a business. Some get sponsorship from a company offering them a job. It depends on your circumstances.......

I disagree and would attribute it more to common sense.
