Reading reviews for Lars Von Trier's new serial killer film 'The House That Jack Built' has made me depressed. Men and children are killed and there is animal cruelty too.

I do not like the world. It seems as if women are so thoroughly hated their lives are at risk.

But if I continue feeling depressed, I will have become another type of victim. A victim of their hate.

How do we rise above the nastiness that exists in life?

There is much hate and ugliness in this world, but there is also much love, kindness, compassion, and beauty. It’s easy to get sucked into sadness while thinking about all the bad stuff, but don’t forget about the good stuff that exists too!

We have only our voices and bodies to offer to that war, which we should fight as peaceful resistance. One cannot win the peace-war war by waging violent war.
