I was listening to a program on NPR today about net neutrality. Most of the Republicans in government want to end it. Most, if not all the Democrats in government want to keep it. What is your opinion on It?

Also the FCC not being involved in the internet is fine because now the FTC gets to be involved and they deal with monopolies and collusion. The two things that actually affect your internet experience.

Net nuetrality drove internet prices up. Because instead of allowing commerce to take it's natural course you give all channels equal unfiltered access to bandwidth. This puts a larger strain on the system overall and prevents companies from developing methods to give increases of speed to certain services that need them to allow an overall better experience.

Whichever way "net neutrality," or the lack thereof, affects my ability to use, to enjoy, or otherwise engage the i-net; the mode that allows me to do what I want/need to do is the mode I prefer. If my ability to use it as I prefer becomes inhibited, I will disengage to the extent necessary.

It will definitely affect your ability to use it. You will pay more, and you will have much slower connection rates if you don't cough up the money, if it is abolished.

@Wisewoman3, then if it's abolished, I guess we'll just have to fix it after we get the assholes currently in the majority out of office.

I'm in favor of net neutrality. FYI, the measure to override the FCC decision to kill net neutrality passed in the Senate today.

Start calling your local congressional representatives.

It's like Citizen's United - Rich people & corporations want an advantage that they can afford at the expense of the rest of us.
