Why are you on this site? Is it because agnosticism is massively important to you? Central to your being?

I just want to get to know other people who are going to hell when they die, so that I'll know somebody when I get there.

I discovered Agnostic.com on Facebook. The discussions and posts are interesting and entertaining.

Have been an atheist since age 13, when I realized the Bible is just a book of stories written by men. Since I've been an atheist for 50 years, it's no big deal to me. No man has ever refused to meet or date me because of my atheism.

Sadly, my cousin, a Jehovah's Witness, cut me off due to my atheism. That was sad and hurtful. But the only person I can change or control is myself.

I never hid my atheism and had the problem where men would approach me because they thought I slept around... boy were they wrong, and dumb.

I am here simply exploring topics of conversation that do not include anyone praying for me as a solution to things.

Interact with fellow free thinkers.

I came because I thought it would be nice to skip religious stuff and talk about other things

5

mainly to get away from talking about religion

Hahhahahahahhahahaha good luck

@NothinnXpreVailsI know but this is the best there is at the moment.

@LeighShelton yep

I was tired of looking at all the Jesus lovers on Okcupid, so searched for atheist dating in play store and downloaded this app. Here I am!

4

I'm here because I'm so tired of all the hateful religious people on facebook. All the Trump supporters, prayer warriors, and morons. I'm looking for intelligent discourse. I'd also like to meet fellow atheist vegetarian, maybe date a nice guy.

4

nope its because I want to see other intelligent people speak their minds to me

4

Curiosity more than anything. don't know many people who are willing to speak philosophically about it and was finding myself dreaming in order to have interesting conversations (lol).
This site actually has interesting people with different - and similar- ideas and there's always something fun to read or learn.

4

This came across my FB feed and I liked the idea of like minded people. The dating part was a small portion of my interest. I signed up and pretty much forgot about it for a month or so but have been coming here most every day for a while now to see what people are discussing.

4

I guess I was motivated primarily to find like-minded individuals to vent to as I am embarking on a job in a religious-backed hospital chain. Secondarily, I guess if I were to meet some good company of either sex, that would be a bonus because I am relatively new to my area and would like to have a better social life here. Thirdly, I used to enjoy message board culture but I find FB has really had a negative effect on that. If video killed the radio star, then FB killed message boards. Hopefully this one will be different.

I needed to know that I was not alone...that other people are not worried that if they don’t believe in God or a religion, society want disown them. I feel stronger knowing that people can believe in logic and reasoning and still not belong to a religion!

Because it's not geared towards hook ups.

To point out that all of the agnostics are atheist that misinterpreted the word.

3

Why are you on this site? Looking for people like myself and to learn from them.

Is it because agnosticism is massively important to you? Kinda!

Central to your being? Ok!

Im tired of the bullshit pressure all around me. Im shunned by my sons in laws. My daughter is starting to catch on. Hmmm... its rough out here. I need friends.

What do you mean by your daughter is starting to catch on?

I hope you mean catch on to atheism and NOT going the ways of your sons-in-law?

Because I am, by nature, an argumentative sod.

2

Yes, agnosticism is central to my life and job. I hope to share my thoughts and learn from others. I enjoy this site for the ability to pick and choose topics with intelligent discussions on subjects I am interested in. Where I live most people are new age kooks and my thoughts on various subjects do not go over well. I come here to be with kindred spirits so to speak.

2

Leaving faith changed my life, friends, family.. etc so yes it's central. Also, non-religious people are smarter and more-educated on average, and I'm a sapiosexual.

2

I’m on here because I enjoy socializing with fellow atheists for which we are in the minority of this land. Being an atheist doesn’t define me, it’s not my identity and it isn’t central to my being. However, it is an important issue that we are facing in this country, especially now when politicians are pandering to religion and attempt to establish policy based on superstition.

2

Agnosticism is a relatively neutral feature in the equation for me. I came here (and remain) because the site is better designed to facilitate discussion than any other site I am aware of since OKCupid closed its “Journal Community”.

It's another group to occupy my time when I go online. If I meet other folks, all the better.
I'm not agnostic.

I completely relate with this.

I joined for dating, and have had some success, but am surprised that this place became one of my favorite social media spots. I've been an atheist since my teens, but don't find the topic of religion very interesting any more, and my views haven't changed a bit in all these years.

1

I found this site completely by accident. Which I found humorous as I'd just come back to this idea of atheism. Trying to be that in reno has its issues. The religious would spout on about how they'd pray for me to find the truth. And the atheists I occasionally found only wanted to talk about how the religious people were ignorant or worse. Yes, atheism is a central part of who I am. And this forum allows actual conversation about atheism. But much more as well. So as one of my pagan friends said to me once when she found Wicca, I think I'm home finally. (Shes a really good person and I say to each their own).

I joined to interact with people. The older I get, the less I'm willing to go out and socialize. I also live in a conservative town in Texas, so I'd rather stay in.
