Took a walk down to the river this morning (will be making multiple posts from it because too much to show in just one) and l found this amazing piece of driftwood in the mud. I'm going to clean it up, dry it out, preserve it, and either turn it into a lamp or use it as a hidey hole in my frog pond (once l build it)...my creative juices are flowing!!?

It probably doesnt last as long as tree wood as its been in the sea adn got salted but I have made geodesic domes for flowers to grow round and also a long arch pretty much using cable ties because the clematis covers all that up.

Driftwood can be beautiful. My brother used to live near the Potomac in D.C. and acquired a wonderful collection of driftwood that he had collected over time. He referred to them as natures sculptures.

I'm not even sure if the right term for this is 'driftwood'...(since it's a river and not a beach), but the river carried/drifted it here from somewhere!?
Does it have one hole or two ?

It has one large hole down the center...and a couple of small holes on the side.
I kept taking pictures from different angles, but none of them have the right depth perception to show what it truly looks like...it's actually quite nice.

Bleach it? Or natural....
I'd go with natural.
