A number of us have indicated that we work out, how we do so, what we do.....

Why? What is your purpose of putting yourself through the abuse?

Personally, l have absolute crap for a gene pool. I've been on cholesterol meds for well over half my life and give my MD fits with my blood sugar or creatinine counts.

Hitting the weights, running, etc, is a holding action at best. It's probably not a question of if things start falling apart, but when. I'm hoping l get lucky enough to just drop dead on the track or something similar. The thought of just surviving while my body slowly deteriorates isn't all that pleasant.

My initial reason was that I want to keep my back painfree without a visit to a surgeon. (Physical therapy stopped the nerveroot impingement by two bulging discs).

Now I also do it to keep cholesterol in check and to hopefully delay or even prevent type 2 diabetes. The combination just cut my dad's life short. I want as many good years as I can get!
