Storms are rolling thru tonite. I have rarely been afraid of them, as I have been thru (2) tornados. I love thunderstorms. My nickname is Lieutenant Dan. “You call this a storm?” Are you afraid of T’storms or have comfort in them?
I don't mind them at all. The small humans and dogs, on the other hand, have a very low tolerance. Yesterday afternoon, I had a 5 year old glued to my right side until her mother got home. Right now, I have about 150 lbs of dog (2 of them) laying on my feet.
I love stormy nights and a good strong storm. I guess that might change if I ever were in a storm that truly threated me... but for me it is kinda the same reason people go to see horror movies and ride on roller coasters. Apparently, I like to be a little scared.
I think I also take comfort in them. I think this must be an evolutionary reaction. If there is a storm then predators who might normally be after me will be held at bay so in a strange way I feel safer.
If I lived in a tornado prone area I'd be afraid.
Tornados are fascinating and hypnotic, but imagine your while house smashed up.
Have always loved them, I remember more as a child, they seem less common now.
My dog loves them. Most dogs whimper and hide,
this one makes me open the doors and blinds so she can watch the lighting, never flinches at thunder. Kat just growls back at thunder.
I really don't give them a second thought. We get hit a lot down here in Florida with thunderstorms, tornadoes and hurricanes. You get used to it
Exactly - it's been raining so much lately, but we're like - MEH.
Same here. But it's the first real rain we've had in months after a practically no snow winter. Folks are happy about it.
Back to sun and high 80's tomorrow.
Lighting/thunder storms are pretty neat around here - wide open, flat.
