Aside from your beliefs, what other areas of your life do you feel you have to hide to avoid criticism or because you feel no one can relate?

While there are people who are outspoken about their beliefs and lifestyle, seems like many of us choose to stay quiet. What else are you cautious to share with others?

I have some secrets that I don't share with anyone. Only a few people I really trust know, and only on an as-needed basis. If people knew I would be laughed off the face of the earth.

My disgust for children.

@XxDARKNEXUSxX Pay for love? Can’t say I’ve done that before, never had to stoop that low. There is nothing mixed up about hating children lol, I just simply answered the question.

I join dating sites excited to find a date and equally excited to find someone to smoke me out

I agree with Thanos.

On one of the dating sites, I tool fantasy novels and board games out of my profile and my views more than tripled. Go figure.

One biggie, and I wish I could tell you... But I can't. Not anyone, not ever. And it's lonely.

But otherwise — I keep quiet about my previous exploits when I used to be a functioning alcoholic. Several things I look back on now with horror and think SERIOUSLY?! — and feel so relieved that I never got caught in the act. Yikes!

I have never felt that I have to hide anything about myself. I simply do not wear my beliefs on my sleeve. When I feel the need to express myself on an issue, I do so -- in a civil and non-aggressive manner. However, when someone has done or said something which expresses bigotry, falsehood, or which is disrespectful and/or hurtful, I do respond with passion.

I'm not all that interested in talking about divorce, other relationships, finances unless it is necessary as part of a current relationship.

I'm pretty much an open book. It's not a book to be made into a movie, but there are some pretty funny pictures in there.

The best policy is openness IMO. Anyone who matters will respect you whatever your opinions.

That said, I am somewhat touchy about my Alabama roots. It’s amazing how many people attack my state in the name of liberalism.

In the bible belt there are people I've offended by mentioning that I drink, a legal activity! I certainly keep weed to myself outside of my circle of friends. Also, a lot of people around here have no idea how to respond if I tell them I'm Jewish. You can see the wheels spinning behind their eyes, trying to figure out what I've just told them. I kind of enjoy those responses.

It may be a little off topic, but I hate lots of social situations like weddings etc where I’m expected to mingle and talk small talk with everyone. It’s so dull and embarrassing having to try to be interested in complete strangers, when I only very rarely click with anyone. I like to speak my mind, and I’m always afraid of upsetting people, so when I talk to strangers I’m always filtering what I say. It’s so tiring!!

Not much.
One look at me is enough for most folks to surmise incorrectly.
Nothing to hide.
