Ducks are filthy, smelly things
Very cute. Sadly the excess males are simply put live through a grinding machine to turn them into fodder for other animals.

which is why every egg & chicken meat consumer should keep a handful of chooks - to stop factory farming in its tracks. raising male chickens isn't more effort than feeding laying hens, & the slaughter then... well, i know why i'm vegetarian.
@walklightly and put up with that awful crowing before sunrise - I'm just going to bed then!
@FrayedBear, well, that's ok then: the crowers reminding you when it's time for bed 
@walklightly a word missing from my comment "usually".
None of these will wind up in a grinder, or on a table. We keep chickens for pest control, and for the eggs.
@StylisticIdiot And what do you keep for controlling the pests that they attract like rats, mice, mink, foxes, lice ....?
@FrayedBear shotgun, and Barn cats. Haven't had a problem with lice
