What's the most useless phrase you've heard?

I'm voting for "Thoughts and prayers."

It has literally become a pet peeve of mine. I literally translate that to, "Glad it wasn't me."

Yeah, that's a good one...

Yep. "Thoughts and prayers"....

It's all lies.... This woman was denied shelter in a church as a tornado approached (see link)

Let's all pray to the god that let this happen.

Yeah, "thoughts and prayers" gets my vote as well.
To me, all it means is, "I'm going to say this useless phrase so I don't have to actually DO anything in response to whatever terrible thing has happened".

Here's one in response to my being angry about a corporation laying off workers after their tax cuts: "Those actions were planned prior to the tax cuts". I'm thinking, if I won the lottery MY plans would change, seems like theirs could too. Very lame "defense" of grabbing the money and doing whatever you wanted to do anyway.

I think it really means who gives a shit.

Perhaps, but would that make this thread meta-useless? Might be a little too close to metamucil.

2

"Atheism is a religion." ?

'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger' ... That annoys me.

God wouldnt give us more than we can handle

@Bigwavedave

Like PTSD?

@Ellatynemouth yes. ... i call bullshit. Look at all the suicides.

@Bigwavedave BUT...those are the people who didn't remember that GAWD would never give us more than we can handle. Unless....you don't suppose....could it be? SATAN DID IT?
