Since, I don't think the bible is a holy, righteous or true book of literature, but simply a literature book w/some good stories, I don't recognize the real inconsistencies inherent in the book.

Now, that whole 'let us make man... shish just sounds realy hokey. Did you know that the first 3 weeks of the humyn fetus is distinctly feminine? Chickens lay eggs routinely and not because a rooster makes it so. The feminine entity inherently carries the egg, it's ever present.

plus, I don't recognize the notion of invisible sky daddies.

I talk to myself all the time. I'm not quite at the stage of answering myself...yet.

His imaginary friend. Which is ironic as god is also imaginary.

The first mis-translation in the bible is Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God ---. The Hebrew word there that is translated God is plural. Corrected translation; In the beginning The Gods created ---

The early parts of the bible are clearly polytheistic. For instance, the first of the 10 comandments; Thou shall have no other god before me.

yes, which image is his or is he a human chameleon? in fact, why is it he and his image?

ha who could possibly have been listening in order to quote God basically answers that i guess right. Genesis is admitted mythology, and should be read that way imo. The plurality of God is a device used to help establish God as unknowable, yet still inclusive, etc

Love ya! Another excellent question, along with who did Abel marry, who did Cain wander amongst, etc etc......

Haha, duh , he said let us, so I guess he was talking to the rest of his crew!

He was talking to himself - or would have been, if he had existed.

In honour of this christians have talked to themselves ever since - they call it 'praying'.

Judiaic spiritual teachings have 10 sephiroths( Kabbalah). It is an attempt to show the stages god would have gone through to create the Universe. First was the thought of doing it, then the action. So he was actually thinking aloud in a way.Its metaphorical.

Yes know, man was lower down the list ,the whole story is one dialogue,i.e god talking to himself, which is just a writing style for the time .

Gen 1:26 - "And Elohim said, 'Let us make People in our image, after our likeness: and let them have stewardship over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air,and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.'" (Hod)

I would venture to guess that that refers to an earlier polytheistic stage in Judaic religion.

As a Caucasian woman I think it is so funny when pictures of Jesus is portrayed a pale skinned light haired male... obviously no need for any accuracy when the rest of the story has little regard for social / historical or actual truth oh dear

'He' was speaking as the Elohim which apparently means 'gods'. Christians 'get around this conundrum by saying it was The Father. The Son , and The Holy Ghost. But yes, it is kinda weird

That is an excellent question. I may have an excellent answer. The first of the ten commandments states "You shall have no other Gods before me."

This was a time period when people believed in multiple deities. So, the Bible itself doesn't rule out the existence of more than one. That's why Yahweh (or whatever name they chose) was referred to as "The One True God".

It's really just "My dad can beat up your dad" when comparing Gods.

yes, and to elaborate, yahweh was a pagan storm god of a nomadic hebrew tribe and war cult, later became a chief god when judah and his particular tribe massacred some folks and formed the organised religion of judaism... much like zeus or horus... basically they are all the same...

If a god speaks in empty space does it make a sound?
Laws of physics say no.
