Good ideas don't come along every day. On those special days when an interesting notion comes along with a little tap and surprising whisper, not repeating it would seem ungrateful.

Today, while pondering the contortions in thinking to which most Americans subject themselves in ordernot to see what is before their very eyes in occupied Palestine, it dawned! A way that just might provide a 'selfie' for my fellow citizens of how ridiculously myopic we as a people have become in a short 73 years.

First, one of my favorite quotations/illustrations by a genius of the Renaissance, Leonardo da Vinci. He saw people in three categories: "Those who see, who see when they are shown and those who do not see." The last category exemplifies my loving, loyal and ever so moral, fellow Americans as I see them...

What is not seen is as clear personally as crystal in the most objective perspectives on what is moral, honorable, humane and civilized. So maybe trying on another set of spectacles, and the term meant in more than one way phonetically, would help.

Israel is roundly praised on both our political Right and Left leadership as our bona fied irreproachable best friend and loyal ally in the Middle East; indeed as the only 'Democracy' in the region with the most humane and moral armed forces IN THE WORLD! (THEIR BILLING, NOT MINE) Any allegations levied at Israel relating to war crimes or atrocities is answered by all of our presidents and other lying politicians with variations on the sanctimonious response: 'Israel has a right to defend itself. Sometimes it is 'defend its borders', an even bigger dodge because Israel has never agreed to fixed borders in function.

This droned mantra ad nauseum finally hit home! Yes! I wondered, is it only Israel, apparently special above all nations, that is entitled to defend self and borders? Aren't we, the Political Zionist's best 'asshole buddies' also entitled to defend the USA and our borders? What's fair for one wealthy, elitist nation ought certainly be fair for the other; especially when the other condones methods used by their best of friends to defend borders beyond their borders...

Voila! There it came. The 'selfie'! Defending our (fixed) border in the USA has been a most vexing controversy. The remedy for both protecting our borders - after all, we're entitled too - while giving Americans a pair of clear, instead of rose colored glasses through which to evaluate Israeli military behavior would be this:

Hire he Israeli military as a mercenary force to do for our country what we lack agreement and resolve to do for ourselves! Let them earn some of the $10 million we giver them every day in aid and weaponry! I think they should bring their MOST MORAL ARMY IN THE WORLD from their WONDERFUL DEMOCRACY to help us out a bit for a change with our border problems.

See how it would work yet? Hire their IDF and Border Police with experienced commanders, to put their murdering racist asses at our Southern border. Let's see then how our mealy-mouthed, whoring politicians respond when unarmed, desperate people are murdered by snipers and drones; gassed with tear gas by these good moral friends 30-40 meters into Mexico in order to halt, and halt they would, illegal crossings! Maybe it would become even clearer to the visually impaired if Americans set themselves up safe distances away, to cheer-on the carnage as spectators, cursing and laughing like it's some kind of sporting event.

Oh, how I wish! It would be halted very soon as indefensible morally. Support for a well monitored wall would occur overnight! Best of all, the most moral army in the world would be seen for what it really is. Americans would take a special liking for and deeper understanding of the term 'never again'. These hypothetical crimes are what we in America have supported IN REALITY for over 70 years in the Middle East. We're disgracefully blind to it over there; blinded by the most blatant misrepresentations of history and bold-faced lying propaganda machine the world has ever known.

Why do we support elsewhere, what we wouldn't tolerate in our own backyard for a day? How is it we've betrayed every humanitarian value exemplified by our 'Greatest Generation' that sacrificed so bitterly to protect us and the rest of the world from racist, Fascist fanaticism?

I sincerely hope the saying 'what has been seen cannot be unseen' is actually so; if only in the mind's eye.

Oh just set up automated gun turrets along the border and mow down any and all that approach the line in the sand, ban the media from covering the piles of slaughtered refugees and it a day. Out of sight so out of mind, assuming anyone still has a functioning mind.
The Zionist actions are nauseating to me but I suppose that would make some people me an antisemite.

bank on it

This is a good rant except for the Israel thingy. Jordan is Palestine. The Palestiners need to stop logging bombs everytime they see an opportunity. The Israeli Arabs are not doing this, having more freedom & quality of life than most of the Arab world. They face challenges but they vote & on paper have the same rights as any citizen. They are not migrating out of Israel into other Arab nations. Our ally Saudi Arabis doen't permit citizenship even to those born there. There is no Arabic country that is as open & free as Israel. Even Morocco is ruled by a King. King? In the 21st century. Sorry. You have your opinion. But I believe it is flawed. Peace.

All opinions and conceptions are human and therefore flawed in some ways. That is where reasoning and learning refine and hone perceptions into better forms. do not reason and are often self-blinded by common ambitions.
Your comparisons here reminded me of our own era of colonialist conquest and slavery; which incidentally was bad but not nearly so as Political Zionism.

I don't think any slaves on the plantations of yore, working in house or mansion would have 'jumped off tho porch' to trade places with those in the fields.

The 'equal' rights of Arabs in the Zionist, racist state are tenuous at best; revokable any time am Arab shows signs of forgetting their place and getting uppity...

Regarding the last part of your post, you and I both hope on that much. I get the feeling that this post is going to be widely ignored by a good portion of fellow members on this site, as if it's not a meme or a pointless query, most will overlook it. You're not alone on that thought though, there are others out there who agree with you on this topic.
