I think this is fair: if you take credit for the good things about the country that you had NO part in, then you shouldn’t you also include yourself in the not so good things, too? Seems like cherry picking to selectively include yourself in the “we.”

I take no credit, good or bad, for what goes on in this country. I have one voice and one vote. That is all the power l have in what this country does.

I would agree with this. Similarly to the religious - If your god gets credit for the good, he/she/it has to also get credit for the bad. Great, this god helped your team win their basketball game...the same god also gave little Billy, who's in the local Children's hospital, cancer...what a great god!

Don't take credit for anything you didn't do. Simple.

So first, nothing is fair. People will always try to claim credit for things they didn't do, and deny responsibility for things they did that aren't so good. Up to each of us to figure out which is which. It's work.

trumpie is a master at this.

Yep. Case in point. Trump took all credit for the stock market increases, although one could argue that the booming stock market in trump's first year was the residual effect of Obama's economy. When the stock market had two record drops in one week not a peep could be heard from trump. He should have apologized for the drop and then said, "I take full responsibility, the buck stops here."

@Beach_slim but the point remains that trump took way too much credit for the stock market increases and zero responsibility when it had the record falls. He wants to accept all credit and say he is the reason for anything that is good... yet when the same thing happens in the opposite direction he always blames someone else. Either the stock market results, good and bad, are because of him or they are not. He can't have it both ways, which was the point of this person's original post.

@Beach_slim oh buddy, what an ignorant statement. And such loaded words! Hardly the way to keep someone engaged in a discussion. I think if you take an economy and triple the stock market while (not only stop the bleeding of jobs under the previous president) creating millions of jobs and driving the unemployment rate to near record lows all despite a Congress that is nothing but a roadblock to you, then you've been a great president and done a decent job with the economy. But I have to say your discourse is not only ridiculous but is why I don't engage with people like yourself. This is my last comment to you. Have fun trying to annoy someone else with your stupid arguments.

@StrongHappySilly Good job. He accomplish a lot considering they signed a letter not to pass any legislation he proposed. Now they have the gall to state that theDems are blocking legislation.

Agree.
But, as citizens, we are responsible for what goes on in our country. Good or bad.
