I've always found the song 'Snowbird' a little depressing, but I could never work out why.
Its simplicity, like a snowbird, is beautiful and the melody is happy and innocent, and I still have a distant, hazy memory of my grandmother smiling and tapping her foot along to this.
But listen to the lyrics more closely and it becomes clear. This is not a happy song.
