I agree with this but understand how logical and independent thinkers can justify their beliefs in a god. E.g. I consider Stephen Colbert to be a logical and independent thinker and, with my own guesswork and upbringing, how he can justify his belief in the Roman Catholic God.

As a disclaimer: I was brought up in a strict Catholic family. We recited the Rosary (all 50 beads + the 3 overarching prayers) every night. I don't believe in any god now.

I know a lot of logical thinkers that are also Christians. Much more thoughtful and aware Christians than most.
