Just found out that someone I know and had recently begun to think of as a friend is a full-on white supremacist racist - as in, an actual paid-up member of both the British National Party and Britain First (which, for the benefit of non-Brits, are both far right racist political/street action groups).
Pity - he seemed a nice guy!

I remember when I lived in the stpaul/Mlps area in the early to mid 90's. Not the most diverse state in the union. White folks let me know that they liked and accepted an east coaster like me by telling a black racial joke in my presence. Its either they like me or they were waiting to say this to to a black guy. Nothing has changed. Look at who is prez.

You have the ability to make more friends. It all the depend on your circles. You and him may have a connection beyond differences. Big question... What do you look in a friendship? What are your boundaries?

I reconnected with someone I knew in college after all these years. I was glad at first until I saw their current thinking was along those lines. SO disappointing
