Do appointments by doctors and service people that are always late upset you as much as they do me.

I know doctors are often late do to emergencies but when they double book and then run hours late for an appointment is a real pain. I have several great doctors that I seldom need to wait for an appointment and they even golf on Thursday's but two of my great doctors are never on time. Servicemen just forget it they are seldom on time if ever.

Yes. I have to be on time at the dentist but I never get into the surge on time,

Just as with anybody, lateness for real cause I can work with. Emergencies happen, especially with medical personnel. But I should be advised so I can decide whether to re-book, & it SHOULD NOT be due to overbooking!

Very True. We should be given the option.

My Doctors Office knows not to do that to me, I usually get the 1st appointment of the day, last year he got flooded in so they rang me and had a replacement Doctor ready. I so rarely go to the Doctor, they don't want to miss their chance. My old dentist was awesome, left time between appointments, if you were to late for him to do what was planned he rescheduled so the next appointment wouldn't be late, and he charged still, he also charged people who didn't turn up and didn't cancel. Our national telecommunications provider was booked to rewire an office for me about 20 years ago, I gave the staff the day off as all computers were down, they didn't show, we had a service level guarantee so they paid me over $5000 for the days wages. When I have work done on my car, it is always finished on time. I am actually a very easy person to deal with, but if stuffed around I never go back, so eventually I end up dealing with businesses who are efficient.

I had eye surgery last year, a few months later it needed some extra work, just a little in the Doctors office, my son took teh day off to take me, Dr was 2 and 1/2 hours late and because of this decided not to do the surgery. I have not been back, and won't be. I pick up new glasses next week after getting a different opinion.

The people who did not show up or were late should be told why you are not coming back. A friend who works in a doctors office informed me that a letter should be sent to the doctor because the staff does not tell the doctor about these things. The same go's for service people.

Most definitely. If a service man does not call and say he is going to be late this gets me mad .If he calles I will give him some slack

On the other hand...if you are seeing some kind of surgeon, and they are late because an operation required more time, or had to attend to a trauma victim, aren't you glad to know if you were in the same boat you would be a priority?

I agree there are doctors who are totally disrespectful of patient time. I have often wished I could bill them for my time.

Nice idea.

My youngest son is changing doctors because of the last time he was there. They were so late in seeing him, he needed to get the security guard to let him out of the building. From start to finish, he was there over four hours.

One of the time I went to see my neurologist, they had me wait two hours. Immediately after I asked them what the problem was, they called me. I'm pretty sure if I hadn't asked I would have been there a lot longer.

I am well aware things happen. All I ask is that I am made aware of them so I can decide whether I need to reschedule.

There isn't any reason for this treatment and the doctors should be made aware that time is important to everyone!

They always want me to arrive fifteen minutes early for appointments, then I sit and wait.
I stopped going in early and started arriving right on time and I still wait but at least I've knocked fifteen minutes off of my wait time.

One of my doctors is very slow when I get sent to another room to wait in. That appointment lasted an hour. I was not happy about it.

Before the next appointment that was scheduled I called the nurse there and informed her that if he was going to do that to me again I'll get up and leave.
He was much quicker the next time.

I have always thought it was normal to wait at the Doctors office🙂

@WizardBill I live in boondock Idaho, and we don't have many Doctors.

However the doctors should still be made aware of being late.

Unless there's some sort of emergency, I see it as a sign of disrespect. My time is every bit as valuable as theirs. If they don't agree, I have the option of taking my business elsewhere.
Which I have done. I make the effort to be on time. So should they.

Sometimes it's the weather that makes them late.

Yep ,it sure is sunny in Florida

Believe it or not, I was once scolded by a doctor for not being timely (traffic and finding the place). He was a new doctor so I walked out and got another one.

I was once told in an very inpolite manner to loose wt. I told the doctor what he could do with his advice walked out and never paid for the visit.

My time is no longer that important to me... I got plenty. Nothing like Retirement!!!! I live in a bubble off the grid of inconvenience. Retiree time.

@witchymom Good to know that you are getting there... nothing like retirement... I am just in a position, were there is no kid or nobody depending on me to be on a structured timetable... So I go along... not worried to be on a certain time to do something else behind with no margin for error. Your case is different you still raising a kid. In my case I drive everybody nuts.

@WizardBill hell (and pardon me for using hell). 2017 flew by me but I did accomplish the number one thing I set to accomplish in that year. I haven't decided what is going to be the goal on 2018. But I suspect if I can find a steady, keeper partner... will be a year that will standout and very to my liking. WIshing you the best for you and your loved ones in 2018.

Considering how many doctors I used to see on a regular basis I do find it annoying. The last time it happenned to me it was late in the day 4 or 5 o'clock at a medical center that closes at 6 pm. I had an apt with a new specialist, a surgeon. I have difficulty with my hands since a bone marrow transplant to save my life. Been in hand therapy but my rheumatologist referred me to a surgeon. He had emergency surgery and I had to wait over an hour to see him. Frustrated because he said surgery wouldn't help.

I usually rebook or drop the appointment when I have to wait for excessive time. My time is just as important as their's
