When people are desperate others will cash in on that desperation. The whole idea of religion is about desperation. Politicians and others have cashed in on this from the beginning of time. Right now with the demand for resources exceeding the supply people are getting more and more desperate. The (wrong) idea of streets being paved with gold elsewhere is still used to day by the unscrupulous (or others that are desperate and looking for a way to get ahead even if that means harming others). Drugs and slavery have always been with us and, because of our greater numbers is higher then ever before.

As far as children go they are too often simply a means to an end. I have had friends who traveled to India and they all came back saying how horrified they were at the number of maimed children. This is often done by the parents as a way of eliciting pity and thereby getting more money from tourists! That sort of thing happens everywhere.

I read several comments on this post expressing shock. The issue is mental health. We, as a nation, need to change our attitude toward mental health. We are not dedicated to truly helping children grow into healthy productive adults. Underfunded foster care systems, lack of nationally funded comprehensive mental health care, lack of education in schools, lack of programs for mothers-to-be, are some of the signs.

I was wondering something very similar recently. It baffles me that this exists to the degree that it does. I can't explain it.

This reminds me of a recent story of a girl who was abuse before she was sold to a fucking pedophile. After being sold, she managed to kill his punk ass. And now this kid is on trial for murder.
This story and the one posted here is a prime example why it's hard to believe in a god.
If he can't interfere with this kind of shit that goes on, what kind of weak and powerless being is he then? Oh right. Imaginary friends can't do much in the real world.

Was married to a federal agent, fancy name for a cop. The things he saw were horrible. Some he shared with me. So I can say nothing surprise me anymore when it comes to money making and human greed!

I don't know what the answer is. I wish I did. I hate to think, or say it, but these people who do this stuff to children are incurably sick, in my opinion, and I don't know how you stop them short of exterminating them. Mass incarceration of offenders? It seems these monsters, and that's exactly what they are to me, get off far too easy far too often. Personally, I believe once these perverse animals are caught and convicted, they should never again walk free in society. Or if allowed to, they're free game. They are a blight on society and need to be eliminated; and if there was a way I could do that with impunity, I would.

WTF? I am stunned.

Honestly the solution is parenting. A large majority as in 90% of all pedophiles had been sexually molested as children and all of that could be stopped with a screening process before people give birth.

But that'll never happen.

Evil never sleeps so, evil never been more connected that now. Neither more powerful than now. Because a lot of evil now is legit. And very legal.

Because we place no value on protecting the most vulnerable of society.

It's just...
There's a market for people.
Especially kids...
