If it were the other way around, I’d be all over it!

Sad; trump runs again, Bernard runs again, Biden runs (again), but tradition has it, ‘Hillary bows out’? Maybe that’s the problem, she’s still playing by out-dated rules & edicate..

🤮

Wow, you think the person who people disliked enough to go for drump (who Clearly showed his true self during the campaign) paired with another rich businessman buying his way in, is in the best interests of this country?????

1

This is a sick, sad, "joke" post, right?

Actually, it’s some outside the box thinking our nation is in desperate need of. The sick part are the responses it’s garnered. Even around here ..folks would cut off their nose to spite their face. Damn ~

@Varn

How is running the same person who lost last time out of the box thinking?

It is a repeat of a losing strategy.

@twshield

Does that lead you to believe that they will support a racist former republican plutocrat running with the person who rigged the primary against them last time and then managed to lose to a reality TV show host?

I assure you, if Bloomberg manages to buy his way to a win in the primary and especially if he chooses Hillary as his mate, the party will be ripped in two.

@twshield

Sure but only one of them instituted a policy which encouraged police to unconstitutionally detain and search young black men for no reason. He said that they were actually stopping white people too often and minorities not often enough when the stops made were 90% people of color. It is insane that a person who did that is gaining traction in the democratic primary and the only reason it's happening is because he has billions of dollars and owns a media corporation.

The party has two factions but it is still united. Most everyone is willing to get behind the winner. What I'm saying is that if a billionaire manages to take over using his nothing but wealth and insider influence, there will be no more unity. The party will become two parties.

@twshield why do you say Bernie is "estranged from people iof color"? He was ARRESTED demonstrating alongside them, and they know this!

@twshield

If you look at the numbers, Biden leads with 34% of the black vote nationwide. Bernie has 30%. Bernie also has nearly half of all Hispanic support. This idea that he does not do well with voters of color is just factually wrong.

What is also factually incorrect is when you say that he is a socialist. There is a big difference between socialism and social democracy. Bernie has no problem with free markets and people getting rich. You're right, he has over a million dollars himself. He shares his economic philosophy with MLK.

@twshield your ignorance of the 40+ year bond between black voters & Bernie is astounding in its ignorance!!!!!! He has been arrested demonstrating, go to YouTube & see footage! Black voters know this, you are parroting Faux

@twshield if you bothered to go to YouTube and learn some Facts, it was in the 60's........

@twshield poh, sweetie, your lack of knowledge does Not excuse your rudeness.....

@twshield

Bernie says that he is a democratic socialist. The two are very different.

Bernie has now taken the lead over Biden nationally in the black vote. He has the vast majority of the latino vote and he also leads with whites. He will turn out not only blacks and latinos but young people and critically, working class people in the rust belt who turned away from clinton and went to Trump or just didn't vote.

He has the most momentum, he has the most popular policies, he has the youth energy, independents are with him because he was an independent for most of his career and he is anti-establishment, he is the most likable Senator in the nation, he is shattering individual donor records, he is ranked most trusted on the biggest issue of the election- healthcare... This is what a movement looks like. No amount of plutocrat money is going to stop this snow ball from rolling down the hill into the white house.

@twshield

This is from Steve Kornacki on MSNBC- [twitter.com]

Socialism is when the government controls the means of production and the distribution of goods and services. That's not Sanders' policy. He is a social democrat who believes in free but regulated markets with a strong progressive tax system to supply revenue to be invested into social programs for the greater good of the society and it's people. That's why he calls himself democratic socialist rather than socialist.

It is not hypocritical of him. He is a presidential candidate, he has to move quickly all around the country or he has no chance of being elected. It's not like he is doing it for his own enjoyment. In addition, he has no problem with people getting rich and flying person jets if they want to. He encourages success and earning wealth, he just wants the wealthy to pay their fair share. Why can't he be rich himself and advocate for the poor? FDR was in the 1% and he gave us the New Deal.

Now, billionaires on the other hand are a different story. They are the .0001%. Yes it is absurd that any individual can amass that much wealth. It is a recipe for oligarchy and a direct threat to democracy.

Bernie is old but certainly more energetic and sharp than anyone else his age. I don't care how old he is, he capable and he has a long record of doing whats right. Even if he ends up not lasting his full term, just the fact that a democratic socialist was able to get elected in America would break the stranglehold on power of the neoliberal elites and would open the flood gates for younger reformers to continue Bernie's legacy.

@twshield

Well if you insist on keeping your mind closed, I can't help you

But do take note that Bernie does indeed have the most support with people of color and that trend will only increase as more people hear about Bloombergs terrible record with minorities.

@twshield and you base these ASSumptions on........??

@twshield Why did the Democrats lose in '16? Because folks stayed home. That is why the convention is in Milwaukee. Putin convinced folks that SHE was a sure thing.....so why vote? Comrade Hump is why. Kenosha, Within was lost by 300 votes.

@twshield blacks know that Bernie got arrested demonstrating with them in the 6pm 's...you could go to YouTube & see footage, instead of parroting Crap you heard on Faux......

That's the content of a nightmare.

A racist, misogynist plutocrat indistinguishable from Trump, paired with the candidate who lost to Trump last time?

What could possibly go wrong?

Hell ... Bloomberg was a Democrat, then a Republican, then an independent, now a Democrat again. He has no beliefs. He just joins the party that he thinks is most likely to give him a path to victory.

If the Dem leadership and establishment end up nominating a Repub to run against Trump, there will be no doubt that they would rather lose than have Bernie as prez.

@TomMcGiverin Thus proving the aphorism, "The DNC exists for one purpose: to protect the right from the left".

@mordant You've got that right...

Gee … I was a Republican, a Democrat, an Independent, now a Democrat again.. For the same reasons as Bloomberg - they need me - and I identify with them.

..and what, go vote for an Independent dependent on the Democratic party to put ‘him’ on the map 😉

@Varn

An independent who has been extremely consistent with his ideology and policies over a long successful career and is now shaping the democratic party to fit his beliefs.
Yup, that is the guy to go vote for.

@RoboGraham He just joins the party that he thinks is most likely to give him a path to victory

Sounds like Bernie on that one. 😉 But seriously, what pol doesn't? That's quite literally what political parties are for.

0

I don't care. Anyone but trump. ABSOLUTELY ANYONE!

But not to the extent that we have zero standards and don't vet them.

It's ludicrous to me that the centrist wing of the party keeps claiming Bernie is an unelectable liability and then they put up THIS clown as a candidate when to most people (myself included) he's functionally indistinguishable from Trump himself.

  • 40 sexual discrimination or harassment lawsuits
  • changed from Democratic to GOP to Independent to Democratic party
  • terrible problems with support from POCs due to his enthusiastic support of "stop and frisk" policy for years and his many other racist credentials

I have said, rhetorically, that I'd vote for a damned lamp post over Trump, but I didn't mean that literally. I am not voting for OUR mysogynist, racist plutocrat mega billionaire over THEIRs. What would be the point.

@mordant ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No exceptions!

I hope, for the rest of my life, to never have the name "Clinton" on any ballot I may cast.

1of5 Level 8 Feb 15, 2020

@twshield how would we know he's having a nervous breakdown? Would he suddenly become coherant and focused?

@1of5 excellent point!

That is pathetic… Chelsea is as good as they get.. Yes, Pathetic!

@Varn legacy politics work ever so well.

1

That pairing would be a sure loss in the general. Too many people, including me, hate Hillary and would not vote for her. Bloomberg would never seriously consider her as a running mate.

It’s confirmed - our nation is sick and it’s people are lost… Maybe I should give up & dig in.. ‘This place’ had given me some hope ...but what I’ve read down to here ..makes me sick 😟

@twshield Jump would be jumping for joy if this were to happen. He already beat Hillary once and Bloomberg is a terribly flawed candidate. It would be an easy victory for him.

@twshield From what I have heard, both Bloomberg and Trump have been starting to buy off black leaders to help them get black votes. Trump has also been giving away money at events targeting black people. Reminds me of when union leaders are bought off by management or politicians that are actually working against the interests of the union rank and file.

@twshield Articles I have read online.
