For me: "Never forget that 50% of people are of less-than-average intelligence."
Don't sass someone who can ruin your life.
Of course they're wrong.
Take the ticket and live.
An amateur will practice until they get it right the first time. A professional will practice until they can never get it wrong...
50% of something is worth more than 100% of nothing. Best advice I ever received and I get reminded every single month.
Use the right tool for the right job in the right way?

@Akfishlady Inconceivable!
Nobody ever said this to me, but I heard it somewhere and it resonated with me: “It’s none of your business what other people think of you.”
"You make your own Heaven or He'll right here on Earth", meaning not that things won't happen, but your reactions to things determine your life. Thanks, Mom!
Don't Panic
And always carry a towel
@carcmcgarc So long, and thanks for all the fish!
And always have a towel....
"Life is Life"
I saw this spray painted on a wall in one of the poorest rural hillside communities in Honduras, which was the poorest nation in the Americas in 2010. I was there for a mission trip. We got there on the 1 year anniversary of a coup that overthrew President Zelaya. A lot of the adults had signs of severe malnourishment from thier developmental years.
This trip was at the beginng of my severe deppression which got really bad a year later.
The phrase "Life is Life" has helped me stay grounded when really good stuff happens and when really bad stuff happens.
P.S. this mission trip nudged me along into Athieism.
Nearly all people are assholes all the time and all people are sometimes. question everything and never trust governments.
If you worry about the small stuff, you won't be prepared for the big stuff.
Oh, almost forgot:
Avoid playing poker with Klingons.
In my 20s I was having annual psych evaluations as part of my job. They lasted about 2 weeks and were disguised as "In House Corporate Training". The examiners were external and the result of one of my evaluations was that "No-one has your best interests at heart, your planned progression is for most senior management but you could achieve so much more outside the industry". I went home and wrote my resignation, probably not the result they wanted from the training. It took me 18 months to prepare before actually submitting it. Had I stayed I would have retired very wealthy 5 years ago. I am so glad I left and had a life instead.

And "never trust a fart?"
