As a species, we're kind of like lemmings I think. The population gets to a certain density in relationship to food and environment, then - we find creative ways to kill off big bunches of ourselves. It's like we're hardwired to do it.

I do not believe that critical thinking exists among many of the participants of these events. It's an opportunity to cut loose and get outside.

It certainly doesn’t reduce the risk.
