Does President Trump wish to be known as responsible for more deaths than any other President?

And whilst Trump supposedly advocates drinking toilet cleaner the Washington Post has resurrected an event from the '52 Polio epidemic claimed to be America's greatest pharmacological disaster.

[washingtonpost.com]

Perhaps Trump wishes to go down in history as having bettered the death toll?

"Does President Trump wish to be known as responsible for more deaths than any other President?"

YOu have to admit that is quite a feat!

He doesn't care about anybody except him.

1

The only thing that trump cares about is what trump wants and cares about.

1

I think he probably would like to be able to brag about it even. He just doesn’t want it to cost him the election.

Lincoln would be hard to top.

Asa The Donald himself might have said

Perhaps if Lincoln had not spent so much time crossing the Delaware to get to the airport and had instead produced edible bleach for his soldiers, and himself, to take and thus make themselves immune to bullets, then he would not have been shot at the Little bighorn by Lee Steve Harvey!

by he way only ten people died in the Cutter incident (ten too many I grant you) but Trump has far surpassed that with his chloroquine and clorox bullshit already

That's interesting Len. I thought the post said manymore but the link no longer works for me.

@FrayedBear it was ten died, 169 (some sources say up to 200) with some degree of paralysis and out of the test group of 200,000 about one fifth became ill to a greater or lesser degree, with most recovering.
Ultimately the vaccine was perfected and the death rate of 2400 per annum (mostly children) was reduced to zero by the 1980s.
It was an absolutely appalling tragedy and should never have happened, and justly served as a warning for years about not rushing improperly tested vaccines out on to the open market due to political pressure, unfortunately one that is today being ignored in the rush to save the economies of the word, rather than the lives of the people.

@LenHazell53 It didn't stop the horror of thalidomide.
Some years ago I read that Kabul Afghanistan was extremely unsanitary but was never subjected to polio. I have never bothered to verify the fact.

@FrayedBear So tragically true, Thalidomide was the pharmaceutical industry, specifically the german Pharmaceutical company Chemie Grunenthal profiteering by pushing it as a wonder drug on women as a universal panacea for "women's troubles". It was known to cause birth defects in Germany literally years before it was noticed and then proven to do so elsewhere in the world.
Marketed under various names in various countries it managed to escape detection as the cause for far to long.
Initially since it was give as a cure for the symptoms of PMT/PMS, the menopause, period cramps and "hysteria" it was not such a problem. It was when marketed as a cure for Morning sickness, that the horror story began.
Despite Chemie Grunenthal, causing the problem and being forced to pay reparations, they continued to export the drug to the USA until 1986 as a cure for Leprosy.
The same company is in trouble again today over the addictive effects and poisonousness of their opioid painkillers drug Tramadol.

So long as the words "bestest ever" are in his memorial he won't read any further and so will die happy.

What Trump wishes for is to be known as the smartest person who ever lived... And the richest. This is all part of his megalomania and mental problems. He will never get what he wants most. History will treat him as the joke that he is!

I think we have seen trump and his supporters have a way of putting spin on the most heinous acts of cruelty. Do not be surprised if we hear them say things like, "these were mostly very non-productive members of society and their passing saves the government millions in benefits it no longer has to pay out". Seriously!!

Moscow Mitch has wanted to cut Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security forever, he won't help because he's getting his wish.

I see that your attachment shows a horror of vaccines. The article as such could be a real horror but I lived through some of these times and vaccinations actually prevented polio. I even knew people who had polio as a child. That has disappeared now because of vaccinations.

On into Trump. I believe that he wants praise and love and like he said once, he is not responsible. He even said that on the idea of being a Christian he thought he had nothing to be forgiven of. He doesn't care about anything except himself and his own self esteem. What his life is all about is getting his ego stroked and this is what his rallies are all about. He may go down in history as the worst president ever but he will claim everyone was lying.

Vaccinations have saved many lives. I suspect the old problem ofcorprate greed, short cutting on proces s or employee under training & or or payment are culpable.

Like his wife he really doesn't care.

Either you're a Trump loving tool to perpetuate his and his klan's power, or you are just an anti-American, anti-fascist, anti-freedom, libtard, socialist, communist pain in his butt that he will eliminate in any way that the law lets him.

@ZenMasterD libtard, libertard, and now Trumptard - the perfect American tard-fecta. When I was a kid we'd only use retard or just 'tard. It's kind of ironic that America with so many mental health issues is still using mental retardation as some great put down of those they dislike.I guess polite society has taken away most of their racist put downs so they have to fixate on IQ.

He doesn't wish to but he will be

At this stage he's hoping the US will descend into such calamity that he can cancel the election and appoint himself an emergency unlimited-time President. Too bad how many people will die, he's a psycho who has no empathy at all. Might have to call Brutus, Casius, and the boys, and that dagger in the Rotunda. (With apologies to Wayne and Shuster).

We share the same fears. Only one small national emergency, and we still have a tortilla running things.

@seenoevil9620 for 4 years the international audience has been waiting for US institutions and checks and balances to stand up to Trump, and with a few exceptions, like the odd judge or two of conviction, they have failed. The weaknesses of the US system, a lot of which seems to depend on accepted norms and conventions, have been revealed globally. These norms and conventions mean nothing to a criminal authoritarian leaning President with a like minded party behind him. So, should the worst happen and Trump and his US Nazi-like allies attempt to complete their slow motion coup, I hope you are right and your country would not allow it, but based on the past 4 years you cannot blame those of us who remain skeptical.

@seenoevil9620 I'm sure your service was not a complete waste of time at all, so always remember that, and I haven't given up on the US just yet, but the situation is approaching critical and that's just a fact. What I know is that the US is in need of major reform and I don't see the structures to do that.
