LINK Flat Earthers Are Whining About How Their Friends Think They’re Idiots | Hemant Mehta | Friendly Atheist | Patheos

In a lengthy CNN feature on the spread of the Flat Earth community — cheekily titled “The flat-Earth conspiracy is spreading around the globe” — a couple of people attending a recent conference in Dallas, Texas whine about how they’ve lost friends over their lunacy.

It's obvious. Every time there is an eclipse, you can tell the earth isn't flat.

Your talking about idiots who will tell you that a boat sinks because of water around it, not because water got into it.

Stupid is stupid. You can’t fix it.

Morons.......nothing but.

Funny coz Flat Earthers just do not get it. I know one who recently found me again after she came back to my area. She simply will not shut up about the flat Earth and probably wonders why I will not friend her on Facebook.

Of course the sensible people will laugh and ridicule the stupid, that IS life after all, isn't it.

Most certainly is.

P.S. I have yet to find any flat earther who has been able to provide a plausible explanation for the motion of the stars across the sky.

It has obviously not occurred to those idiots that their friends think of them as idiots precisely because they are idiots.

I wouldn't call them idiots. Cretins or imbeciles should suffice.

Reminds me of the old ‘Foo Bird” joke....

" Foo bird joke," is that anything like the " oomadoodle" bird joke/prank I played on my Evangelidiot neighbour recently?

@Triphid sorta, many years ago, 5 explorers and a native chief were walking in the jungle. Suddenly, a big foo bird flew overhead and shit on one of the explorers. He wiped it off and immediately died.
I while later, as they are walking, a foo bird flew over and shit on an explorer, we wiped it off and immediately died
A while later, as they are walking, a foo bird shit on an explorer, he reached up to wipe it off and the native chief stops him and cries out “if the foo shits, wear it!”

@Canndue Similar but not quite the same.
Our "oomadoodle bird" prank/joke goes something like this,
The National Parks and Wildlife Service are asking people to keep an eye out for a very rare, endangered species of bird known as the "oomadoodle bird."
The male is small, has extremely short legs, a black coloured back with a white chest, a bare stomach from chest to tail feathers.
This bird ONLY nests in short to medium sized trees in the local un-built-up regions around towns and cities.
The male has a very distinguishable call that it makes EVERY time it comes in to land, that call being 'Oomadoodle' repeated over and and over numerous times until it finally comes to a halt once landed.
The N.P.W.S. are offering a reward of $1,000 for any and all photographs taken of this bird.
P.S. Evangelidiot fell for this prank hook, line and sinker btw.

@Triphid his poor doodle...

@Canndue Btw, my little prank on Evangelidiot worked so well that he spent the Sunday night stuck axles deep in mud on a Sheep Property and it cost him $150.00 for the property owner to first tow him out and then to 'escort' him off the property as well.
I'm ever so glad I helped the property owner make a bit of a tax free income with that prank.
