Apparently illegal at McDonalds

Too funny!

Maybe one more good reason to stay the hell out of McDonalds! 😉 Nothing good or healthy takes place there.

I would say to masturbate or not to masturbate isn't the issue. What kind of fantasies you use to masturbate and how they influence the rest of your life is much more important.

It's not only healthy, it is normal.

What - if I say it's not healthy, are you going to stop ? No, I didn't think so ... me either. (grin)

What do you think about using toys? I'm in favor 🙂

Is this a trick question?

It always surprises me that grownups have to ask this in this day and age. Yes. It's healthy. But you can also cause some repetitive stress injuries so be careful to change your technique from time to time and of course be careful what you stick where.

I consider it part of my self-care. I don't get to as much as I would like, but it is a great stress reliever.

@Brass22 ah okay. My answer to that is as long as you don't turn your partner down in favor of self-pleasure, then it's not harmful. But there are times when one or the other wants some sex and the other doesn't or can't or aren't available for whatever reason. It's healthy if it's in addition to but not a replacement for intimacy with your partner.

So, for instance, my partner likes the feeling of self-pleasure, just like I do. It's not better than sex, just different. Now he can do it by himself. In which case I don't mind because I do need that private experience too. Or he does it in my presence in which case I don't participate except to create fantasies of what I think he'd like to hear. Not even about me but about him and other people (cuz who doesn't daydream about other people at least occasionally). So it's all about him, but it's a shared experience. It's hot and actually has drawn us closer together.

This is how we decided to handle it and it works well for us. Being told you can't or you shouldn't only makes you crave it more and can become this addictive secret guilty pleasure. But being allowed to have that option makes it less of a big deal and at least in our case, hasn't ever overtaken the intimacy we do have.

@Renickulous so do I. 🙂

@Brass22 most wives aren't as open as I am, so you aren't alone in that

i think its like a lot of things, its not harmful to do it, but it can be harmful to do it to much. if its something that is getting in the way of your work, or it gets to the point that its compulsory, like if youre just whipping it out at the gas pump and giving it a jerk or somthing thats probably a bit much. but i don't really think its a bad thing, just a bit of moderation like most things in life

Lols.

How about normal?

Sure it's normal. It feels good and doesn't hurt anyone. I don't know if there's any harm in a woman holding off, but I know my grandson had some problems from being forbidden. I'm kind of left out of the loop on those things so don't know how it was resolved.

If you don’t use it you lose it. Safe, fun and pleasurable alone or with someone. What’s not to like?

People are always telling me that exercise is healthy.

57 and going strong! Healthy.

Fun, and good for your prostate! A win-win situation.

I just looked that up, (I thought it was a joke at first) it's true. Gotta feel sorry for guys with ED though. 68 and still going strong, unviagrated too.

Very healthy and natural. Just look at all of the other species closest to us genetically, for one thing.
It is the church that condemns masturbation. One book I read strongly suggests the reason is to instill guilt, for which forgiveness is only offered through the religion. Self-perpetuating cycle that keeps people dependent on the church.
And just look at all the sexual problems at churches that pop up in the news.

Healthy.

Studies show that persons who have no sexual outlets of any kind tend to devlop neurotic personality traits.

Let’s see. It’s free. It feels good. No instructions or license required. It’s good.

Necessary!

Healthy. That's easy.

It depends on where you do it, and whether or not your power tools have a safety on them.

Yes!!!
