Right wing Xians, like Pence and his audience, are all about the "prosperity gospel", which is based on highly selective readings and non-traditional interpretations of the Bible. They also choose to ignore absolutely everything Jesus and the apostles had to say about giving to the poor.

Christians, to live in keeping with biblical teachings, should pretty much be communists, according to Acts 4:

32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common... 34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, 35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

Karl Marx made a better Xian than Pence, Falwell, et. al.

Cut taxes on the rich, gut regulations, and advance freedom (all for the rich only). Provides more freedom for the poor to get poorer, while the rich get richer and the poor are free to sleep under bridges or, better yet, die quietly in the gutter or under bridges. Amazing so many working poor idiots buy into his shit. Pence and Repub Jesus are both such pricks.

Jezzabub teaches them to accept their lot and honor their masters.Fascists believe their leaders are without fault, regardless of how off they are.

@Barnie2years The whole anti-socialist message of Christianity to accept your lot of being poor or a powerless peasant is a big part of why I moved on from being a believer in Christianity.
