Why bother with a formal debate when itβs this easy to destroy a biblical literalist?
Was this before or after the battle where the Marmites were defeated by the Vegamites?
No, I think it was AFTER the Promites defeated both the Marmites and the Vegamites at the Great Battle fought at Meadowlea....LOL.
Nice point. For those who literally believe Noah and the ark I would ask how much crap would those 8 people have to shovel daily, and could 8 people even do that job?
The story of Noah in the bible is the fourth (known) incarnation of the flood story.
Don't the Cleaners/Janitors, etc, do that EVERY single day in the Churches and Houses of Parliament almost EVERY Day? LOL
@snytiger6 Yes, a complete myth most probably founded either on the Inundation of the Black Sea from the melting of the Glaciers AFTER the last Ice Age and the rising levels of the Mediterranean Sea which came through the Bosporus Straits OR the Annual, Flooding of the Nile in Ancient Egypt.
Possibly even a combination of both since people back in those times knew very little about the TRUE extent and size of the world that surrounded their small communities.
@Triphid I suspect the myth arose at the end of the last ice ace with risign sea levels which fill either the Mediterranean, the Caspian or the Red sea. It was inspired by an actual event but int he retelling over thousands of years things got changed. (See Noah's Ark was Plagiarized video posted above, which shows four know retellings of the tale, it would probably be more, but sitten language only goes back so far).
@snytiger6 Yeah well, since about 5 or so years ago, when a Research vessel did extensive Oceanographic Surveys and Water Samplings of the Black Sea, they found a DISTINCT cut-off line between the Saline layer at the top of the Black Sea and the dead, oxygen depleted layer of what was once fresh water at the bottom.
As anyone knows, saline ( salty) sea water IS lighter than fresh water so it tends to float on top of fresh water.
