I guess that shuts the gates on my quest to be adopted.

I wish them both well. I was never crazy about how Microsoft shut out other innovators to get their billions but they have used it to better society and I appreciate that.

Who cares.

I sometimes wonder if there aren't financial benefits to splitting up the fortune? Less taxes for lower income (despite one's savings and investments and such) or something like that? Not that the Gates' seem overly bothered about paying taxes but I don't see them off camera much. Apparently things were different than on camera.

The disadvantage of being a famous person is you get no privacy in your personal life. I don't care, and wish for them an amicable split. The reality is marriage is hard, and who you are in the beginning is not who you are many years later. They did their time and raised their kids. Now they deserve the privacy to work out their issues and get on with their lives.
