I'm curious why the regulation stopped in 1982. And now just bare minimum?

I suspect it was due to the major increase of religious influence in the republican party under Reagan

They (including the governor) also decided to nix expanded Medicaid which the voters (both democrat and republican) approved last year.

Abuse at the Circle of Hope Ranch and Boarding School for Girls started all of this. It's a step forward.

Wow, passes a Law to REGULATE, why the hell not merely step in and CLOSE them down PERMANENTLY?

ALL private schools, secular, parochial, or otherwise, should be subject to the same oversight as public schools...especially boarding schools.
