... and the parole officer didn't lose his job. Apparently there was nothing wrong with planting drugs and lying under oath, which unlawfully put a man behind bars.

The officer wasn't charged for planting evidence. Not only that, this dirty cop is still employed by the parish. How fucked up is that?

It's all too common. Happened to a black friend of mine. Fortunately not only was he at work when the cop allegedly bought drugs from him, his job had a time clock. Still took a year and a lot of hassle to clear up, and cop suffered no penalty.
