LINK Atheist News's Guide to Christian Denominations - YouTube

One of my joys, from being a regular of Agnostic.com, is acquiring the regular inclusion of Atheist News to my diet. This is a nice breakdown of the religious inclinations.

The Roman Catholic Church was not the original Christian church as this YouTuber claims. The consolidation under one bishop, or pope, didn’t occur until at least three centuries after the supposed birth of Christ.

During the first few centuries, AD, Christian churches were as diverse as they were plentiful, springing up all over Asia minor and north Africa. Constantine used Christianity to consolidate his power, and in return we got the Catholic Church, which did everything it could to establish a party-line creed and eliminate pockets of so-called heresy—i.e., churches and writings with unsanctioned doctrine.

But such is the case with all religions; there never was and never could be one agreed-upon interpretation or philosophy. There always were, and perhaps always will be, a multitude of versions of Christianity, as there are of Islam or Judaism. This multiplicity of contradictory doctrine indicates just one thing: none are correct.

The Origins, IF one call them that, of the Modern Christian Religion as different from the Beginnings of the Christian Movement came about with the establishment of the Followers of Jesus ( later to be known as the Jesuit Movement) AFTER the Council of Bishops at Nicaea (325 C.E.) ratified and agreed with Emperor Constantine that the Messianic Religion should,
A) be recognised throughout the Roman Empire as a legitimate Religion,
B) should change its name/title to the Followers of Jesus or the Jesuits, ( distinct from the later Jesuits of the Roman Catholic Church of course),
C) that the NEW religion SHOULD like all other religions have its OWN set of writings ( scriptures) pertaining to its assumable beginnings and origins, hence it was deemed that the following should occur,
D) "UNDER the guidance and command of the Allotted Bishops, a number of select Scribes shall be ORDERED and set about to CREATE using from what-so-ever sources available, a NEW Holy Scripture for the Jesuit Religion. These sources may be from any and ALL other Cultures and Civilisations, Myths, Legends, Folk tales, etc, etc, AND the Pentateuch of these Scriptures MUST be derived from the Hebrew Torah so as to NOT cause ill-feeling with the Hebrews and the Jesuits." - Ordered and Commanded by Emperor Constantine of the Roman Empire, Ides of Martius, Nicaea.
In actual and historical fact, the Messianics accompanying Constantine to the Battle for Rome at the Milvian Bridge ACTUALLY persuaded ( blackmailed truth be told) Constantine that " He must tell his Legions that the God of the Messianics had sent him a vision of their Victory by making the marks of the Greek letters, Ki and Rho in the night sky and that IF he failed to do so and DID not agree to legitimise their religion then they would withdraw their support in the battle and he would stand alone with his Legions against his Foe."
So, Constantine found himself literally between a Rock and a Hard Place thanks to the shyster dealings of the early Christians.

@Triphid Oh, sure. Get technical. /s

@rainmanjr What's the problem, a wee pang of jealousy perhaps?
