We'd have had cannibis-based remedies for covid, cancer, epilepsy, autism, and dozens more diseases except the Christian racist fascists needed a way to systematically screw non-whites in the 1930s. How many millions have died needless painful deaths for the sake of Christian insecurity and paranoia?

"Christian racist fascists" -- don't sugar coat it, tell us what your really think 🙂

. . . I don't mean to dispute that group was opposed, what makes you think it was/is just them ?
I'm aware of -- [en.wikipedia.org]

Extracts from the source below:

(in) "...America’s ban on cannabis, you’ll find nearly all roads lead to a man named Harry Anslinger. He was the first commissioner of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics, which laid the ground work for the modern-day DEA, and the first architect of the war on drugs."...

"The second component to Anslinger’s strategy was racial. He claimed that black people and Latinos were the primary users of marijuana, and it made them forget their place in the fabric of American society. He even went so far as to argue that jazz musicians were creating “Satanic” music all thanks to the influence of pot. This obsession eventually led to a sort of witch hunt against the legendary singer Billie Holiday, who struggled with heroin addiction; she lost her license to perform in New York cabarets and continued to be dogged by law enforcement until her death.

“The insanity of the racism is a thing to behold when you go into his archives,” Hari told CBS News. “He claims that cannabis promotes interracial mixing, interracial relationships.”

"... in 1930s America, it wasn’t hard to use racist rhetoric to associate the supposed harms of cannabis with minorities and immigrants. "

And then there is the constant drone of Christian radio preaching hatred against both cannabis and non-whites. And Nixon and his Moral Majority...

. . . ok, no disagreement my/your linked articles and the wiki link describe his (large) involvement and his racism, but not religion/fascism. I certainly agree he (and others) were 'on-a-crusade' and think it was/is largely misguided.

. . . the following is my take/opinion, no response needed/expected :
I'm not trying to be nasty, I still don't get your (I would say harsh) "Christian" connection, partly because I don't think/know that it was/is mostly/exclusively religion(s).

@FearlessFly Slavery, the Civil War, lynchings, the KKK, and then in the 30's, Nazi ideology cleanly meshed with Christian Nationalism. The hate campaigns against non-whites, Yankees, scientists (Scopes Trial), backlash against Women's Suffrage, continued, WWII notwithstanding, into the present day. It's a long list of targets that also included Catholics, Jews, LBGT, socialists, and those that used cannabis. In the 30's Father Coughlin supported some of the fascist policies of Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and Emperor Hirohito of Japan, and railed against 'Jewish Bankers'. Again, recall the Nazi rally that filled Madison Square Garden, attended by Trump's father. These were values embraced by Christian preachers in the south and bible belt. Christian radio stations broadcasted this bilge then and now.

@racocn8 I have not intended to minimize religions' involvement. I don't know/think whether or not other groups/organizations were also 'culpable'.

. . . just for kicks 🙂

cannabanoids don't block entry, the COVID virus just stops caring about whether it gets into the cell or not. Then it orders a pizza. 🙂 🙂 🙂
